DHP copper wire rod is produced by Copper Italia with the same technology used for theproduction of OFE wire rod.
The required amount of master alloy is added to the bath of OFE molten copper to get a content of phosphorus between 0.04% and 0.06% (or more according to market requirements). This is possible because phosphorus (which tends to combine with oxygen) is almost entirely available due to the very low amount of oxygen in the molten bath.
DATA SHEET – CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DHP COPPER ANODE.
Bright acid copper plating gives excellent results at low cost, while ensuring:
– brightness
– good ductility
– extremely smooth surfaces
… all aiming at achieving excellent protection against corrosion.
To maximize the results of a process with bright acid plating baths, it is necessary to use highly activated phosphorus copper anodes.
WHY PHOSPHORUS COPPER?
THE MAIN REASONS WHY OUR DHP ANODES ENSURE THE BEST PERFORMANCE.
– Less insoluble elements ensure smoother copper plating
– Less sludge means less maintenance of the plating vats
– Even dissolution to reduce anode scrapping
– Less polishing
OUR ANODES ARE MADE OF OXYGEN-FREE COPPER THAT MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS.
Adding phosphorus to a copper base that is free from oxygen and with extremely low levels of impurities ensures an actual even amount of phosphorus and hence predictable performance (see Table 1).
Our DHP copper anodes have our OFHC copper base, the preferred material for advanced electronic design.
